About

Hamon is a worldwide group of companies, headquartered in Belgium, that began business in the early years of the 20th century. While quite active in Europe, it did not enter the US until (in the late 60's) it licensed Research-Cottrell, Inc. to use Hamon's natural draft cooling tower technology in the US market. This relationship continued until 1983 when Hamon Cooling Towers was established as a US-based Hamon entity. Finally, in 1998, Hamon acquired certain assets (but no liabilities) including technology, names and trademarks of Research-Cottrell and Custodis from Air & Water Technologies bringing it largely to its present form in the US.

Nowadays, Hamon in the United States is comprised of 6 operating companies (click the headings to go to the company pages):

Hamon Custodis, Inc.

Hamon Custodis designs, erects, demolishes, repairs and maintains chimneys, stacks and silos. As the largest chimney company in the world, we are second-to-none in construction expertise and we specialize in the removal of reinforced concrete chimneys, steel stacks, and silos in locations which preclude implosion / falling methods. Hamon Custodis also performs erection services for natural draft cooling towers.

Hamon Deltak, Inc.

Hamon Deltak excels in the engineering and manufacture of technically-challenging combustion turbine heat recovery steam generators and waste heat boilers for process applications. By operating within these two distinctly different, but related disciplines, we are able to deliver significant advantages to our customers.

Hamon Research-Cottrell, Inc.

Hamon Research-Cottrell (HRC) designs, engineers, fabricates, erects, repairs and maintains Air Pollution Control Equipment, including electrostatic precipitators, fabric filters, ReACT™ multi-pollutant control technology, DeSOx, Urea to Ammonia, dry FGD systems and Wet Gas Scrubbers for dust and SO2 control in cat crackers. If you need to comply with present or future air pollution regulations (including the latest Utility MACT regulations), we can provide, maintain or upgrade electrostatic precipitators, fabric filter baghouses, wet and dry SO2 and particulate scrubbers, urea to ammonia technology, and NOx control equipment. HRC also designs and furnishes Solar Steam Generating Systems for the solar thermal industry.

Thermal Transfer Corporation

Thermal Transfer Corporation (TTC) designs and custom manufactures a complete line of heat transfer equipment for reducing plant operating costs, including all types of recuperators, heat exchangers, fired heaters, gas coolers and economizers. TTC also manufactures finned tubes for air-cooled steam condensers and internals for electrostatic precipitators.

Research Cottrell Cooling, Inc.

Research Cottrell Cooling, Inc. designs and furnishes mechanical draft and natural draft cooling towers for a variety of applications, including the largest utility power boilers.

Research Cottrell Dry Cooling, Inc.

Research Cottrell Dry Cooling, Inc. designs and furnishes dry cooling systems (air cooled steam condensers) and manufactures the fin tubes at the heart of such systems.
